The international solidarity forum "against imperialism for democracy and against neo-liberalism" opened in Havana last night with the participation of Syria.
Speaking at the opening session of the forum, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez stressed that the Trump administration is the main threat to international peace and security, warning that Washington's policies are triggering a new arms race and militarization of space.
In his speech, Rodriguez praised Syria's legendary steadfastness in the face of terrorism, stressing at the same time his country's unwavering support for the Palestinian people to achieve their legitimate rights.
At the end of the opening session of the Forum, the Syrian delegation held meetings with the President of the National Assembly of the Cuban People's Power, the Parliament of Cuba, the President of the Council of State, Esteban Lasso, the President of the Cuban Institute for Friendship with Peoples Jorge Cuevas, a member of the General Secretariat of the Communist Party of Cuba, expressed gratitude for Syria's participation in this solidarity forum with Cuba, reiterating Havana's support for Syria in its fight against terrorism.
The Syrian delegation to the forum, which lasts until the third of this month, will be headed by Dr. Idris Mia, Syrian Ambassador to Cuba.
