200 participants from different age groups competed in the sports marathon organized by the Directorate of Environment in Lattakia under the slogan “With our cooperation .. We raise our environment” for a distance of 2 km from Dekka Al-Andalus on Al-Azhari roundabout to Al-Orouba Park as part of the National Environment Day celebrations.

A variety of activities and awaits the participants at the finish line, where the winners of the first three places on the categories of “youth, girls and children”, a tour of the drawing workshop for a group of children, in addition to 50 cleaners and a volunteer campaign to clean the nearby Martula garden were honored.

Dr. Lama Ahmed, Director of Environment in Lattakia, pointed to the wide participation of various NGOs, organizations, unions, youth and voluntary teams concerned with the environment, pointing out that the aim of the event is to spread environmental awareness and attract the local community's attention to the importance of the environment.

In the category of children, Majd Osman won first place, followed by Haider Yaqoob, Ali Merhej came third and the latter expressed his happiness to participate in this event and wanted to send a message to his comrades that they can express their love for their environment and protect it through interaction with such activities that stimulate the spirit of volunteerism within them.

Cleaners Mohammed Moussa and Ma'ad Bakkour considered the tribute as a tribute to their efforts with their colleagues to keep the city and its streets clean.He hoped that children would benefit from such events to learn about the love of the environment and the importance of preserving it and working together to ensure a clean future.
