The head of the Islamic Shura Council in Iran, Ali Larijani, stressed that the government and the Syrian people are sovereign over their land and their capabilities.
"It seems that US President Donald Trump does not understand that the land of Syria and its oil belongs to the government and the Syrian people," Larijani said in a speech at the council's open session, quoted by the official IRNA news agency.
