(CNN) - Puerto Rican astrologer Walter Mercado Salinas died Saturday night at the Auxilio Mutuo Hospital in San Juan, according to hospital spokeswoman Sofia Luquis.
Mercado was an icon of Spanish-language television, offering daily horoscopes and its "much, much love" message for decades.
The cause of death will be announced by relatives, Luquis told CNN. Mercado was 87 years old.
The astrologer captivated an audience of 120 million people, among the US. and Latin America.
