The Budget and Accounts Committee discusses the budget of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing

The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly discussed today the investment budget of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing and its affiliated bodies for 2020, estimated at 20 billion and 727 million Syrian pounds.

Members of the committee stressed during their interventions the need to pay attention to the general construction companies by supporting their budget to buy the necessary mechanisms for the reconstruction phase, inquiring about the outputs of the national project for regional planning and the plans of the Ministry of informal housing and the reason for not completing the restoration of buildings in Aleppo governorate for subscribers to the youth and labor housing projects.

He called on the members to expedite the payment of the entitlements of contractors involved in the implementation of the projects of the Ministry and the completion of the law of real estate development and contract on the second phase of youth housing in the province of As-Suwayda.

In response to the members' interventions between the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, the ministry has completed the first phase of contracts concluded with Russian companies for the supply of machinery and that two years ago relied on a plan to accomplish 80 percent of the construction and cladding of youth housing apartments before handing them. Provides the right spatial employment for industrial and agricultural projects to ensure proper development in Syria.
