(CNN) - Vietnam police arrested eight people in Nghe An province in connection with the 39 people found dead in a truck in Grays, Essex, according to Vietnam state media.
Major General Nguyen Huu Cau made the announcement to journalists on the sidelines of a working session of the 14th National Assembly.
Cau also said local police have coordinated with the relevant agencies to collect and evaluate the fingerprints of 21 people "suspected of having relations with the case," the government online newspaper said on Monday.
