(CNN Spanish) - A helicopter carrying the president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, made an emergency landing on Monday at 12:48 p.m. (local) due to a mechanical failure, according to a Bolivian Air Force statement.
According to the statement, the helicopter's tail rotor experienced a malfunction during takeoff.
The Communications Department of the Bolivian Air Force confirmed with CNN that President Morales was in flight, in the helicopter, during the incident.
No injuries were reported. The Bolivian Air Force announced that they will investigate the incident.
