(CNN) - Emma Watson has said that she prefers to call her “self-partner” instead of single as she approaches her 30th birthday.

Watson, 29, who rose to fame as Hermione Granger in the Harry Potter films, coined the phrase in an interview with British Vogue in which he talked about the pressures of turning 30.

The actress and activist, whose birthday is in April, said she initially did not understand the "uproar" that surrounded the milestone.

More recently, however, she admitted feeling "stressed and anxious" for her next birthday.

She told British Vogue: “If you have not built a house, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby and you are turning 30, and you are not in an incredibly safe and stable place in your career, or you are still solving things… There is an incredible amount of anxiety. ”

Speaking of how she had never believed the phrase "I'm happy single," he added: "It took me a long time, but I'm very happy [to be single]. I call it self-paired. ”

The new phrase recalls actor Gwyneth Paltrow's use of the term "conscious decoupling" to describe his divorce proceedings for Coldplay singer Chris Martin in 2014.

Later this year, Watson will return to the screen playing Margaret "Meg" March in "Little Women" alongside Laura Dern and Meryl Streep, whom she previously knew through her activism.

The full interview will appear in the December issue of British Vogue and will be available starting November 8.
