(CNN Spanish) - Fernando Camacho, boarded a plane on Tuesday to move back to Santa Cruz, after not being able to leave El Alto airport, outside La Paz, according to the Minister of Government, Carlos Romero.

“At eight o'clock in the morning, when people had passed the police guard, they (Camacho and his companions) agreed
to be transferred by bus to the facilities of the Hunting Air Group, then departed for the city of Santa Cruz. We have compromised the protection, the physical integrity of the people who arrived from Santa Cruz, we have complied, ”he said.
Romero at a press conference.

Several protesters, identified as supporters of President Morales, since Monday night gathered around the International Airport of El Alto to avoid the departure of Camacho.

Camacho reported on his social networks that the airport manager called protesters to beat him and prevent his arrival in La Paz. Airport authorities denied Camacho's accusation and claimed to be collaborating with the opponent.

The president of the Civic Committee intended to arrive in La Paz with the intention of delivering a letter of resignation to President Evo Morales, Camacho reported Monday after expiring the 48-hour deadline he had given the president to leave office. Morales, Camacho said, "I just had to sign the letter."

Romero said that the Vice Minister of Internal Affairs, José Luis Quiroga, moved to the airport to try to convince the leaders of the city of El Alto to lift their blockade in the air terminal, however, - Romero adds- he achieved his goal and
He informed him of what was happening to Camacho, who initially refused to leave the airport.

For his part and through his Twitter account, the Secretary General of the OAS, Luis Almagro, expressed his concern and asked to protect the individual rights of the leader of Santa Cruz: “We request the authorities of Bolivia to ensure freedom of movement and circulation of Luis Fernando Camacho ”.
