Maha Ahmed Khouzam was crowned with many brilliant medals in the high jump sport during her participation in the championships of Lattakia province and the republic of her ambition to represent Syria in foreign championships and raise her flag in the Arab and international forums.
In an interview with SANA Sports Bulletin, Khouzam revealed that she was born in 2003 and started her career since 2016 in the gymnastics under the supervision of coach Hafez Kaddar but did not participate in any tournament and moved after months to practice athletics under the supervision of coach Maurice Obeid in the field of Al Basel Stadium, but soon began to shine After months of hard training, she managed to win first place in her first participation in the province's school championship.
Khouzam said that in her first participation in the republic athletics championship held in Lattakia in 2016, she won the gold medal in the 400 meters hurdles and bronze long jump in the same championship.This achievement motivated her to commit and continue to train hard and implement the useful instructions given by her coach to develop her level and improve her numbers.
Khouzam added that she participated in 2017 in the Republic Championship, which took place in Damascus in the high jump competition on the advice of her instructor and won the second place, setting a new record for her of 145 cm and also won the bronze high jump in the championship of Majd al-Din Ghazal athletics held in Damascus the same year.
In 2018, Khouzam was crowned the silver of the Republic of Athletics Championship in the high jump competition.It was a great joy to receive an invitation to join the training camp conducted by the national team in Latakia, but 2019 was the most important because it is full of achievements for her, most notably her invitation to join the national team camp for young men and women in Damascus and won the silver jump in the high. The Republic Championship that took place in Lattakia and the gold jump high championship Republic for young men and women held in Damascus.
Khuzam did not hide her ambition, saying that her ideal is the world champion Majd al-Din Ghazal and her dream of becoming a world champion in the high jump like him and flying the flag of Syria in foreign championships locally, Arab and international to reach the world.
