The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly discussed the investment budget of the Ministry of Communications and Technology and its affiliated entities for 2020 amounting to 4 billion and 326 million Syrian pounds.
Committee members questioned the latest developments in the launch of the e-government program, the automation project by mail, the launch of the Syrian satellite, the electronic signature law, the third mobile operator, the smart multi-use card and the secure government network.
He called on members to speed up the restoration of telephone and Internet services in areas free of terrorism, improve cellular communications and Internet services, increase the number of gates in the governorates, in addition to setting controls for citizen service centers in ministries and collecting the services of all ministries in each center.
The Minister of Communications and Technology, Iyad Mohammad Al-Khatib, said that the ministry has completed the implementation of the electronic correspondence system and put it into service. The Syrian people should prevent access to modern equipment.
