The meeting, which was held today at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, focused on boosting the agricultural sector, both plant and animal, by continuing to implement the strategy of cultivating every area that can be cultivated, securing the requirements for the advancement of livestock, preparing an integrated plan for marketing agricultural products, exporting and expanding agricultural processing.

During the meeting, which was chaired by Prime Minister Eng. Emad Khamis with the officials of the agricultural sector in the presence of ministers of agriculture and agrarian reform and water and financial resources and the President and members of the Executive Office of the Union of farmers and managers of institutions affiliated to the Ministry of Agriculture and agricultural managers in the governorates was stressed to continue a comprehensive plan of action for the next stage in the agricultural field To achieve the program of self-reliance in the face of unilateral coercive measures and the unfair economic blockade on the Syrian people.

It was decided to expand strategic crops and fruit trees such as almonds, figs, pistachios, aromatic and medicinal plants such as saffron because of their economic feasibility, and continue to develop livestock projects "poultry and fish" and the restoration of the sheep herd and continue the project of family farming and rural women and address the situation of agricultural companies contributing with Arab countries and provide loans to build a ground reservoir To collect rainwater to irrigate family farms, the Ministry of Agriculture was commissioned to develop a vision to invest all agricultural land under open financial support for the agriculture sector.

The meeting approved the plan of the Ministry of Water Resources in the field of modern irrigation network reform and the completion of the completion of water dams and dams in the governorates and the completion of the project of local desalination units to use their water for irrigation of crops.

The Prime Minister agreed to include the modern irrigation plant project of the General Union of Peasants with a program of subsidizing low-interest loans, granting the necessary loans to create a special economic entity for the Union and expanding its investments, providing the necessary machinery and engineering equipment to the institutions of the Ministry of Agriculture, and to deal with the conditions of unlicensed poultry houses and reduce their costs.

Two working groups were formed to deal with the debt of the farming associations and a mechanism to insure the entire cattle herd.
