At the behest of President Bashar al-Assad, the Governor of Latakia Ibrahim Khadr Al-Salem offered condolences to those of Major General Mohammed Kamal Gharib who passed away the day before yesterday.
The families of the deceased expressed their sincere thanks to the generous gesture of President al-Assad and their condolences to the late deceased, which had a great impact on them.
During the condolence council in the mosque of Houria in Lattakia, Governor Al-Salem said: I am honored and instructed by President al-Assad to convey his sincere condolences to the passing away of our late officer who was one of the commanding officers and was confident in the performance of his work and accomplish the tasks entrusted to him during his military career.
He participated in offering condolences to the Secretary of the Latakia branch of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, Dr. Mohammed Shreitah and the Assistant to the Commander of the Police Brigadier General Nihad Al-Shahwan.
Born in 1931, he joined the Syrian Arab Army in the 1950s, graduated in military ranks and participated in the October liberation war.
