The historic city of Palmyra is witnessing an increase in the number of tourist groups that visit it from different nationalities to see the most important monuments and historical monuments and the city's human heritage and document the destruction perpetrated by the terrorist organization Daesh as a result of its systematic attack on prominent archaeological sites in the city.
Rita, a British-based biologist, told SANA that she would have liked to see the Arc de Triomphe, the Temple and even other archaeological monuments before ISIS destroyed it, calling on the international organizations concerned to do their duty to return what the terrorists had destroyed.
For his part, Australian tourist Nicholas said in a similar statement: "When I arrived in the ancient city of Palmyra I felt that I was born again where the weather was beautiful in the middle of the charming and safe desert and I took pictures that will not be erased from my memory of that civilization."
Nicholas added that the Syrian people are loving, friendly and peaceful, and that what I have seen in Syria is the opposite of what we have heard from the media aimed at distorting the truth, pointing out that he will convey what he saw to his people sincerely and honestly.
He pointed out that the destruction of monuments by terrorists in Palmyra is an attempt to obliterate human culture.
