Engineer Bassam Salama, General Manager of Banyas Refinery revealed the details of yesterday's explosion in the refinery, which resulted in the death of a worker and the injury of five others.

In turn, Eng. Hassan Mohamed, Head of Improvement Department, pointed out that a certain defect in one of the production units led to the cessation of work there, pointing out that the efforts are going at a high rate to restore the unit within two days.

For his part, Engineer Hossam Saleh Hassan told SANA during his stay at Banyas Hospital this evening that the occurrence of malfunctions during work is normal, pointing out that the work in the refinery is in accordance with safety procedures “and what happened outside our control,” pointing out that his health situation requires staying in the hospital for about a month To come back to work.

Hassan pointed out that it was not the first time that he was injured, stressing his determination with his colleagues to follow the national duty of their work in the refinery.
