More than 1400 young men and women from different Syrian provinces participated in the “Peace for Syria” marathon today in the celebrations of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and the East on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Department.
In a press statement, the Patriarchal Patriarchate of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and Bishop Ephraim Maalouli stressed that the marathon is a message of joy and peace proving to the whole world that Syria is doing well, especially its achievements in the war on terror, and will remain the land of peace. .
In turn, the Director of the Department of Ecumenical Relations and Development of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Antioch and All the East, Father Alexi Shehadeh, told SANA the importance of the marathon as it symbolizes the peace we are living thanks to the sacrifices of the Syrian Arab Army, which will spread all the Syrian territories to return our country as it was before the terrorist war.
At the end of the marathon, the first three winners were honored.
