Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer (CSU) has commented on the case of illegally reentered clan leader Ibrahim Miri. The asylum application of the imprisoned Lebanese had been rejected by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bamf) as obviously unfounded, said Seehofer. The authorities are currently preparing to re-deport.
"This case of Miri shows that our liberal legal system in this area is vulnerable to abuse," said the CSU politician. As a minister, it was his duty to respond to the identified shortcomings and shortcomings. He has already ordered reinforced border controls. In addition, he wants to submit a bill next week, to either reject persons with an entry ban at the border or to detain them during the asylum procedure.
Miri was only deported from Germany to Lebanon in July and was subject to a travel ban. However, the former president of the rocker group "Mongols MC Bremen" returned to Bremen in October. There he confronted the authorities and applied for asylum. Immediately afterwards, he was arrested and has since been in detention.
