The Syrian delegation participating in the 37th Havana International Exhibition held meetings with Cuban economic officials last night. The two sides stressed the importance of strengthening economic relations between the two countries.
Orlando Gijn Hernandez, President of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce, said during his meeting with the Syrian delegation that he is pleased to participate in this important economic forum, stressing that the Syrian presence in Havana International Fair is a good proof that Syria is recovering economically after the war.
He pointed out that this participation could open the way for the possibility of expanding relations between the two countries and trade exchange, especially since Syria and Cuba have strong and historic friendship.
For her part, Ritzy Gonzalez Merritt, general manager of Caribbean Citrus Company, stressed the need to strengthen economic relations between the two countries through trade.
For his part, Syrian Ambassador to Cuba Dr. Idris Mia stressed that Syria's participation in the Havana International Fair reflects the will of the two countries to enhance economic relations and elevate them to the level of distinguished political relations, especially in the current circumstances in which the two countries are subjected to an unjust siege by the United States and other parties.
Member and Secretary of Damascus Rural Chamber of Commerce Mohammad Khair Sariol pointed out that the Syrian participation was represented by the presentation of a number of national products.
The 37th session of the Havana International Fair was held in Havana on Tuesday with the participation of Syria.
