The People's Assembly today, at its 21st session of the 11th ordinary session of the second legislative session, chaired by Speaker Hamouda Sabbagh, continued to discuss and approve the articles of the draft law on the Artists Syndicate to replace Law No. 13 of 1990.
The Council approved the articles of Chapter VI on (Branch Council), which consists of five members elected by the General Assembly of the branch from among its members. The Council of the Association upon the proposal of the branch council. The General Conference shall determine the rules of this full-time salary and full-time compensation and the term of office of the branch council for five years.
The Council also approved the third chapter, Chapter I, which includes the elections of the councils and their bodies. Any severe disciplinary penalty shall be imposed against him by a decision not exceeding three years.
Article 47 concerning the opening of nominations for the membership of the branch council and the complementary members of the General Conference and the by-elections was restored to the Committee of Education and Scientific Research for redrafting after the majority vote.
The members of the Council discussed the articles of the draft law in Chapter II, which includes dissolving the General Conference, the Council of the Bar and the councils of the branches. The new draft law includes eighty articles.
In addition, the Council referred the draft law containing the mechanism of appointing repeaters in private educational institutions to the Committee on Constitutional and Legislative Affairs for consideration with constitutional consideration.
The session, which was attended by Minister of Culture Mohammed Al-Ahmad and State for Parliamentary Affairs, Abdullah Abdullah, was adjourned until 12:00 on Tuesday.
