DAMASCUS, (SANA) -Prime Minister Imad Khamis has agreed to allocate 10 billion Syrian pounds to the tide councils

Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis approved the allocation of 10 billion Syrian pounds to the benefit of the city councils and administrative units in the governorates to establish development projects (small and medium) of economic feasibility and the formation of a working group of the ministries of local administration, environment, economy, tourism and the State for Investment Affairs and the Planning and International Cooperation Authority to follow up the implementation of this Projects that take into account the priorities and specificity of each governorate and the development of local resources and the generation of jobs.

In an expanded meeting chaired by Eng. Khamis and the attendance of the Governors, it was stressed the role of each Governor in the development of the development and investment reality of the boards and administrative units and the development of investment and economic infrastructure and the expansion of the base of small and medium enterprises and the development of economic and human resources.

Governors were asked to coordinate with trade, industry, agriculture, tourism and artisan unions to re-operate small and medium enterprises affected by terrorism, and to establish a database of stalled establishments and communicate with their owners to address difficulties and provide facilities and incentives that encourage their take-off.

A central committee was formed under the chairmanship of the Minister of Tourism and the membership of the Governors of Homs and Quneitra, the Assistant Minister of Local Administration and the Director of the Investment Authority to study the file of non-performing projects of the private sector in the governorates and the ambulance steps and the support mechanism to be provided to re-take off these projects.

As part of the efforts to review the allowances of the State leased property, each portfolio has been mandated to establish an integrated database on the property of administrative units invested by the private sector to be re-evaluated and its revenues are used in the service of local development.

During the meeting, he asked the governors to expand the private investment base of the administrative units and follow up the implementation of government development projects and projects implemented by the private sector and the plan of each province to draw a new investment map.

Eng. Khamis stressed the role of the governors in the development of solutions and initiatives based on the variables and challenges imposed by the war and their responsibility to implement the state plan as they represent the main body supervising the implementation of this plan, explaining that the next phase will witness the launch of more development projects in the provinces.
