Shortly after leaving the Bundestag, Sigmar Gabriel has found a new job: The former SPD chief is adviser to the US think tank Eurasia Group. As an "expert on European affairs," Gabriel will provide "insights into the rapidly changing political landscape of the region," said the New York-based company. Earlier, the "Handelsblatt" reported on it.
Eurasia chief Ian Bremmer described Gabriel as "a key figure in European and global affairs". He has learned a lot from the politician "over the years".
