Discuss ways of enhancing parliamentary cooperation between Syria and Iran

The National Security, Arab and Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Committees of the People's Assembly discussed today with the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council ways of enhancing parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in the interest of the Syrian and Iranian peoples.

The committee members stressed the necessity of intensifying parliamentary visits, exchanging experiences, joint coordination, unifying positions and developing long-term plans and appropriate working mechanisms, which would positively reflect on enhancing the security and stability of Syria and Iran and all that would help the governments of the two countries to achieve economic and trade cooperation in various fields.

The members of the committees pointed out that the parliamentary committees have a responsibility and an important role to face the pressures and challenges facing the two countries, which are engaged in a single battle in the face of terrorism and the forces of global hegemony and the Israeli enemy.

The head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council Mojtaba Zul-Nouri confirmed the readiness of the Shura Council and various state institutions in Iran to provide the necessary assistance, expertise and expertise to Syria to contribute to reconstruction and recovery and return better than it was.

For his part, Chairman of the National Security Committee in the People's Assembly Faisal al-Khouri pointed to the need to deepen the parliamentary relations between the two countries, especially the committees and to upgrade economic relations to the level of political relations.
