Prime Minister Eng. Imad Khamis discussed today with the head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Shura Council Mojtaba Zul-Nouri and his accompanying delegation ways of developing economic relations between the two countries in light of the changes in the region.
The meeting dealt with the prospects of new cooperation in the coming period and the importance of investing the expertise of the private sector between the two sides to activate trade exchange and expand joint economic investments.
Khamis stressed that the Syrian-Iranian relations are getting stronger in all fields, especially at the political and economic levels through exchanging visits between government delegations and forming joint follow-up committees to implement the economic agreements that have been signed and opening the door to new agreements benefiting the two friendly countries.
Khamis pointed out that the current period is witnessing an intensification of government efforts to optimize the exploitation of local resources and mobilize human and material capabilities to mitigate the effects of war on the living conditions of citizens in parallel with the development of strategic plans to fortify the national economy during the next phase.
For his part, Al-Nouri explained that the joint efforts to combat terrorism have deepened the historical relations between the two friendly peoples, which will continue after Syria achieved a complete victory in its war on terrorism, pointing out to his country's desire to exchange experiences and successful experiences with the Syrian side in the reconstruction phase, especially in the fields of energy and agriculture. And the development of infrastructure, roads and strategic industries.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and a number of members of the People's Assembly and the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Damascus.
