(CNN) - He is one of the winners of the EGOT (which includes the youngest Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony) in history. He and his wife are one of Hollywood's iconic couples. And now, John Legend is PEOPLE's “sexiest man alive in 2019”.
The magazine announced that the singer of "All of Me" will get the title awarded last year to actor Idris Elba, a comparison he made fun of himself.
"The 1995 John would be very perplexed to follow the steps of the 2018 @IdrisElba as #sexiestman alive," he said on Twitter. “Hell, the John of 2019 is almost as perplexed, but thanks @People for finding me sexy. I will accept it".

Last year, Legend became one of the youngest people to win an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony and the first black man to win all four awards. Only 14 other people have accomplished the feat, including Audrey Hepburn, Mel Brooks and Whoopi Goldberg. He is also known for his relationship with the Chrissy Teigen model.
As expected, Teigen had a lot to say about it on his Twitter.

La socialité (from social networks), who now calls herself in her Twitter biography as “demotivating speaker currently sleeping with People's sexiest man,” tweeted in response to the comparison with Elba.
"Yes, but let's see a photo of @idriselba from 1995 (probably still very handsome)," he said.
Legend, whom PEOPLE called on his cover a good guy who got it all, released this week the updated lyrics of the 1944 song "Baby it's Cold Outside" to include calling an Uber for the woman who insists he should leave.
