Photos of accident deaths and secret shots under skirts and the cleavage should be considered a criminal offense in the future. The corresponding bill was approved by the federal cabinet on Wednesday morning.
Federal Minister of Justice Christine Lambrecht (SPD) has recently reiterated its legislative plans for a sharper crackdown on gazers and against so-called upskirting.
Lambrecht said with a glance at Gaffer in the ARD "Morgenmagazin", it could also be simply said: "You do not do that." Since this is obviously not enough, the criminal gap must be closed here.

"There is a deficit in some who do not understand that it is about people struggling for their lives," Lambrecht continued. Such accident victims or people who have died in accidents, should not be "object of photos or filming", which would then possibly even spread on the Internet.
So far, such photographing was usually considered a misdemeanor and was punished only as a criminal offense if the offender touched the victim or additionally insulted and humiliated. In the future, imprisonment of up to two years should be possible.
Lambrecht said that her goals are less the convictions than a social debate and the raising of people's awareness of showing more respect. With the new regulation photos of victims of accidents should be expressly criminalized.
The same applies in a different context for the secret photography under the skirt or the dress of women. "That too is humiliating and hurtful," Lambrecht told the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung" on Wednesday. It hits women very much when they are "degraded to objects" in this way.
