Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has called on the military in Bolivia to restore President Evo Morales to power after a coup in the country this week.
During a meeting in support of Morales in Caracas, Bolivia's top military command, Maduro called for President Morales to be returned to power and not to oppress people, AFP reported.
Maduro said Morales had been forced to resign, noting that the situation in Bolivia could lead to internal strife in the country.
On Sunday, Morales announced his resignation after protests over his re-election to a fourth term and described an arrest warrant issued against him as "illegal", pointing out that the putschists are destroying the rule of law.
