DAMASCUS, (SANA) - The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly discussed on Sunday the investment budget of the Ministry of Health and Health

The Budget and Accounts Committee of the People's Assembly today discussed the investment budget of the Ministry of Health and its affiliated bodies for 2020, amounting to 19 billion and 117 million Syrian pounds.

He called on the members of the committee in their interventions to discuss the possibility of setting up a center for the treatment of tumors in the city of Qamishli or allocate a section of the National Hospital to overcome the difficulty and costs of patients to travel to Damascus and the establishment of a heart disease and surgery in Shahba hospital in Sweida.

Members of the committee recommended raising the value of financial compensation for forensic doctors and allocating the hospital in Aleppo with additional washing machines to deal with the pressure, wondering about the role of the ministry and the concerned unions in controlling the high cost of treatment in hospitals, private clinics and the prices of medicines.

For his part, Minister of Health Dr. Nizar Yazji said that the ministry started six months ago to implement the quality system by organizing the role digitally for the auditors of its hospitals and to secure appropriate infrastructure for people with disabilities and formed a team to follow up in the governorates, pointing out that the drugs and some medical supplies and equipment for each Public hospitals of the ministries of health, higher education, defense, interior and local administration through a central Astghar committee in the Ministry of Health, which began its work in the first month of this year contributed material savings so far worth 9.5 billion Syrian pounds in medicines and some Medical supplies only.

Minister Yazji pointed out that the establishment of a center for the treatment of tumors in the city of Qamishli and a Division of Cardiology and Surgery in Shahba Hospital in Sweida is related to the availability of specialized medical staff and medical devices, pointing out that a project was issued to issue a forensic stamp to raise the value of compensation for doctors working in the General Authority for Forensic Medicine.
