What is the cause of the crisis in Bolivia?

The regional director of International IDEA, Daniel Zovatto, believes that the crisis in Bolivia is serious and requires a rigorous analysis beyond simplistic and ideological readings. For Zovatto, the inability of the former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, to leave the government and lead the country towards a transition with a replacement leadership is one of the causes of the crisis. In an interview with Carmen Aristegui, Zovatto also rejects the way the opposition and the armed forces act since, he says, the opportunity was lost to achieve a solution, and they precipitated what also qualifies as a coup d'etat. On Sunday, November 10, Morales and Vice President Álvaro García Linera presented their resignation in front of television cameras.
