Lebanese President General Michel Aoun expressed the hope that a new government could be formed within days after removing the obstacles, with the first aim being to meet the demands of the protesters.
Aoun stressed during his meetings today that "contacts aimed at forming a new government have come a long way," pointing out that the demands raised by the protesters in the squares are being followed up and will be one of the first objectives of the future government that we are working to form in the near future.
He also stressed that dealing with the new developments is based on the national interest, which requires cooperation, pointing out that many of the demands raised by the protesters had already transmitted them under the proposals of laws to the House of Representatives and adopted by the government before resigning and remains to be approved by the House of Representatives in order to facilitate the process of fighting corruption Accountability of perpetrators, lifting of immunities and other necessary measures.
Aoun pointed to the importance of the cooperation of economic institutions in the country to deal with the repercussions that have arisen as a result of the current events.
