In preparation for the winter, the Ministry of Electricity and its institutions (generation, transmission and distribution) has taken a series of measures to meet the growing demand for energy during the winter as a result of low temperatures, according to the Director of the Public Electricity Transmission Corporation Engineer Fawaz Al-Zaher.
In a statement to SANA delegate, Al-Zahir explained that the establishment started implementing the periodic maintenance program since last September, which is continuing until the end of this month, which includes maintenance of power plants to raise their efficiency and capacity to increase electricity production and reduce loads in winter, pointing out that work is done according to priorities in the most needy plant Then least so that all stations are in service.
To alleviate the forced rationing between the apparent that the electrical network has been expanded in switching stations and enlarging the capacity of power transformers, especially in places where there has been a significant increase in the population during the years of the terrorist war. By adding new transformers in some plants to meet the energy demand.
Al-Zahir pointed out that during the past period, new conversion stations have been put in service in some governorates such as the plant conversion station in As-Suwayda, which feeds the city center and Dahr Al-Jabal. All conversion stations in Deir Ezzor have completed some conversion stations and work is underway to feed the area Albokamal electricity.
In Aleppo, all transfer stations have been put into service and implementation of the 2020 plan to develop new plants has been carried out.
He concluded by saying, "We have not yet announced the end of rationing, but we are working to improve the reality so that the rationing in the minimum cases," calling on citizens to cooperate with the ministry during the winter and rationalize electricity consumption to last.
