Russian President Vladimir Putin reiterated the need to fight terrorism, abide by international law and cooperate in solving regional and international problems.
Addressing the plenary session of the BRICS Summit in Brazil today, Putin said: “One of the most important issues we are interested in is building international standards in the fight against terrorism and preventing the spread of its ideology, including through the Internet. Criminal methods. ”
Putin called for adherence to the laws of international legitimacy and the pivotal role of the United Nations in world affairs, stressing that Russia will pay special attention to expanding coordination in foreign policy between the BRICS countries and in major international platforms.
Putin proposed practical measures to update the BRICS strategy in trade and investment to reflect positively on the economic cooperation of its participants, set new tasks for cooperation until 2025 and enable the financial structures and mechanisms in BRICS.
The BRICS countries include Russia, Brazil, India, China and South Africa.
