On the occasion of the October holidays, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing inaugurated the Citizen Service Center at the General Organization for Housing in Al-Mazzeh area in Damascus, which aims to facilitate and simplify the service procedures provided to citizens in an automated and fast way from one place.

The center, which was built on an area of ​​650 square meters and at a cost of 400 million Syrian pounds, provides a property data service, an architectural plan, a general site plan, the date of casting and a dwelling area, in addition to the right of benefit service that helps the citizen to obtain within one day the right of benefit document that was requested by the Directorate of Housing Cooperation. A citizen wishing to register on a dwelling to find out if he / she is a former beneficiary of one of the housing cooperatives or the Public Housing Corporation.

The center will also provide the services of the Ministry of Interior, including the service of the judicial record and the data of marriage, divorce, family, individual, birth, death and administrative development to provide a non-working service in the country and the authentication of self-identity card in all cases, which was time-consuming and requires review of several departments and government agencies.

The Minister of Public Works and Housing, Eng. Suhail Abdul Latif, pointed out the importance of the center for the multiple services provided by the citizen, noting that the work to establish the center has been in stages of archiving and automation to reach networking and provide services in this way for a number of public bodies, including the ministries of public works, housing, interior and administrative development and Damascus Governorate .

The minister pointed out that the transactions currently available at the center came as a result of long work with a number of partners and within six months most of the services will be available, which means a significant shortening of time and place.

Director General of the Public Authority for Housing, Dr. Maala Khidr explained that the center will provide 26 services have been activated a number of them will be activated the remaining services in succession, pointing out that the team simplified procedures in the institution worked to equip the center to provide these services to save time and effort on citizens.

The center began to provide services a while ago on a trial basis to enable technicians to avoid any observation or error that may appear when the application, according to the center's engineer Amal Saleh.

Kamal Khair Beik, supervisor of the Real Estate Bank's office within the center, talked about the banking services provided by the office to the citizen, which helps him to facilitate the procedures when doing his transaction so that it is directly without going back to another place.

Staff of the Center underwent a week of training by a technical team, according to employee Ahmed Hussein, while employee Suad Zuweid pointed out that the Center ensures the full processing of transactions in the least possible time and explained the employee Ali Othman that the citizen is applying to the Center to send it electronically to the beneficiaries of the service to process the request And deliver it to the citizen ready as soon as possible.

A number of citizens considered the launching of the center a positive step to ease the burdens and facilitate the provision of services Khalid Al-Sheikh stressed the importance of the opening of such a center in all government institutions in terms of linkage between its departments, considering the center an important step that provides citizens to review more than one department at the same time between Tarif al-Shatti The center significantly saves time and effort and reduces the burden previously experienced when conducting a transaction.
