"The era of Merkel is clearly coming to an end": The Green Party chairman Habeck has sworn the party on the political renewal. Group leader Hofreiter affirmed the claim to co-legislate in the Bund.

"We want to set the course": Green Party chief Robert Habeck has reaffirmed the creative will of his party at the party congress in Bielefeld. The era of Merkel is coming to an end and a new era is beginning, said Habeck. "We promote the responsibility of being able to shape the new time."

For this, the Greens needed "plans that reopen the horizon," which describe a policy that leads out of the small-Klein. The Greens have aroused much hope and confidence in the past few years. "Now in the next phase, we have to make hope come true," Habeck demanded.

His party has "raised so much hope in recent years," he said. "In the next phase, we have to make hope come true." It was about "opening up new spaces" and "showing perspectives that point out of the status quo".

Habeck called for a "new investment offensive" for schools, swimming pools, fast internet or public transport. Although a budgetary policy is important and necessary, but "nevertheless, one must consider how the conditions change". It is about an "economic program that ends the war of the economy against nature". Habeck warned: "We are running out of time."

Co-party leader Annalena Baerbock pleaded for an economic policy in the name of climate protection and social justice. It needed an economic policy that "serves the common good and secures the prosperity of our society, without ruining our natural resources," she told the newspapers of the editorial network Germany.

Group leader Anton Hofreiter affirmed the claim of the Greens to co-legislate in the federal government. "In view of the grueling grand coalition, it is clear: we want to govern because it is urgently necessary for us to govern," he told the "Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung".

On Saturday, Baerbock and Habeck want to stand for re-election, their confirmation in office is considered safe. Finally, on Sunday, economic and climate policy is on the agenda. The Greens demand an entry-level price of 40 euros per tonne of CO2, which goes far beyond the coalition's plans, which provide for ten euros. The executive proposal of the executive committee provides for the citizens to return the income in the form of a citizen's money.
