Kiwan explains that one of the five important archaeological cities in the province and its effects formed a defensive line of the Romans and was distinguished during the Nabataean, Roman, Byzantine and Arab Islamic times as an important administrative, economic, military and religious center and was then called 'Skaya' and in the third century AD had its own calendar called Shaqqawi calendar.
