Tunisian President Qais Said today ordered Ennahda candidate Habib Jamali to form a government.
"The President of the Republic today handed the candidate for the post of Prime Minister Habib Jamli a letter of mandate to form the new government," TAP reported.
Earlier, the Tunisian presidency issued a communiqué announcing that Ennahda Movement President Rashed Ghannouchi, in his capacity as party leader with the most seats in the People's Assembly, briefed the president on the proposed personality for the post of prime minister.
Habib al-Jamali, 60, presents himself as having no political affiliation.
