Damascus, (SANA) - On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the glorious corrective movement, Mouwasat University Hospital in Damascus was placed today

On the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the glorious corrective movement, the Mouwasat University Hospital in Damascus today developed a number of development projects completed by the service, including the restoration of various sections and wards for ambulance, operations, care and the application of the electronic role system in outpatient clinics and the general laboratory at an estimated cost of one billion and 400 million Syrian pounds.

Completed development projects included the restoration and renovation of “one-day operations and external auricular operations” with electronically connected operating theaters with terraces and educational halls for direct television transmission and communication between physicians and students to serve academic work, as well as restoration and renovation of the Department of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy with European standards Work after the completion of the maintenance of the old machine.

The projects also included renovating the fifth floor with a capacity of 100 beds and completing the programs of the new resonator device to conduct more than 60 cases per day free of charge to the hospital patients at a nominal price for outpatients, and the restoration of the ears section for women and the creation of a reception room for the ambulance patients to ease the congestion and the rehabilitation of the nursery that takes care of the children of the hospital staff.

In a statement to the media, Minister of Higher Education Dr. Bassam Ibrahim described the Mowasat Hospital's projects as an important achievement that contributes to improving the level of medical and therapeutic services provided free of charge to patients in addition to quality educational services for students of the Faculty of Medicine. The government in the health sector and its endeavor to provide medical equipment and medicines for all hospitals, where it allocates 45 billion Syrian pounds annually to support hospitals.

In turn, the director of the hospital, Dr. Essam Al-Amin, considered that the completed projects constitute a qualitative leap in the work in terms of quantity and quality in addition to serving the academic side, noting that the hospital despite the difficult war conditions continued to work and provide free service and start to more vital development projects to achieve the best health service for the citizen.

A number of medical and nursing cadres talked to SANA about the importance of the new projects. Dr. Hossam Hadid, head of the auricular department, confirmed that the restoration operations included the whole section to be ready to receive patients in the best way and provide the necessary medical service according to the latest international standards.

Lina Mahmoud, head of the general nursing department, pointed out that the development projects included vital and important departments in the hospital, which receives daily hundreds of patients and reviewers and are conducting all kinds of operations and investigations necessary for critical illnesses, pointing out that these departments are equipped with qualified nursing staff and trained to do the nursing care to the fullest Direct and implement the medical plan developed by supervising doctors and specialists.

Amal Al-Asaad, Head of Nurses at the External Operations Division, pointed to the importance of continuous renovation and modernization of the operating rooms, which include precision equipment and bear great pressure from patients. Haifa Al-Ali, Head of Nurses in the Department of Otolaryngology Clinics, stressed the importance of applying the electronic role system in facilitating the movement of patients and ensuring that there is no congestion and clashes. Hospital staff where the system allows to simplify the procedures for receiving the patient as it is linked to the displays and voice call system.

According to the latest statistics issued by the hospital, the number of ambulance referrals since the beginning of the current year until the 30th of September last year was 101806, while the number of outpatient referrals reached 105429.The number of surgeries reached 14643 including 3647 ambulances, 1276 laparoscopic surgery and 75 kidney transplants in addition to other operations in The field of orthopedic, cosmetic and neurosurgery.

The Mouwasat University Hospital, established in 1956 under Law 251, is one of the largest scientific, educational and service centers offering health care using the latest technology in various surgical procedures.
