(CNN Spanish) - Cuban journalist Yoani Sánchez, a recognized opponent of the regime, denounced on Friday that “a State Security operation” was carried out outside her home in Havana to prevent her and her husband, the journalist Reinaldo Escobar, leave his residence.
"The reason? Well, the agent does not give many details, but he has made it clear that it is related to the official celebrations for 'the 500 years of Havana', ”Sánchez wrote in his Twitter account.
"This is not new, but every time it happens I will report it," the renowned blogger added.
When consulted by CNN, the Cuban government chose not to comment.
The complaint is made within the framework of celebrations in the Cuban capital on the occasion of the 500 years since its foundation.
