Washington (CNN) - The president of the United States, Donald Trump, went to a medical center to perform a “part” of his annual physical exam, as he “anticipates a very busy 2020,” according to the White House.
On an unannounced visit on Saturday afternoon, Trump, 73, arrived at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
"In anticipation of a very busy 2020, the president takes advantage of a free weekend here in Washington to begin with parts of his annual routine physical exam at Walter Reed," White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said in a release.
His annual physical exam occurs when he is preparing for the campaign for re-election next year.
In February, Trump underwent a complete physical examination at the Walter Reed military hospital and was considered to have "very good health in general."
On the February physical exam, Trump weighed 243 pounds (110 kilos), four pounds more than the previous year's exam. His blood pressure was measured as 118/80, and the results showed that he had increased his daily dose of rosuvastatin, a medicine used to treat high cholesterol, according to the test results.
The exam took "approximately four hours" and did not require sedation or anesthesia, according to the president's doctor, Dr. Sean Conley, who conducted and supervised the exam. Last year's exam revealed that Trump has a common form of heart disease and high cholesterol.
