Iranian President Hassan Rouhani stressed that the government's goal of the livelihood support project is to deliver aid to low-income families.
"The Iranian people have the right to protest, but the protests must be separated from the riots where we do not allow instability in the country," Rowhani told the cabinet meeting, noting that he was instructed to start paying living aid to citizens from Monday.
Rouhani added, "We have only three ways to raise popular taxes, export oil more or reduce the number of government subsidies and return its revenues to the poor."
