Larnaca-Sana
Cypriot police have seized a vehicle belonging to a former Israeli intelligence officer equipped with a sophisticated surveillance and spying system capable of hacking communications, Cypriot police said.
The video, widely circulated by Forbes magazine, prompted the Cypriot government to open an investigation into the case, where intelligence officer Tal Delian, who is known to be the head of a Cyprus-based company, is presenting his mechanism.
"Investigators searched the company's offices in the southeastern port city of Larnaca and found various evidence and electronic surveillance equipment seized and other evidence," Cypriot police said in a statement, noting that the investigation included possible violations of the law on the protection of private life.
Police chief Kypros Mikhailidis told local radio that Delian was being questioned and Cypriots would be questioned.
According to Forbes magazine, the $ 9 million automated equipment is capable of eavesdropping on electronic devices in a 500-meter circle, hacking any phone and tapping conversations of whatever level.
