In a few weeks, the British will elect a new parliament - and opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn hopes despite poor poll numbers on a victory. But he does not want a government with other partners.

A few weeks before the parliamentary elections in Britain, opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn has ruled out his party's possible participation in a coalition government. "We will not make deals with anyone," the BBC opposition leader said, "we will not enter into a coalition government."

Other parties such as the Scottish National Party (SNP) would then have to decide whether to support Corbyn's Social Democratic Labor Party or Conservative Prime Minister Boris Johnson. A plan by SNP chairman Nicola Sturgeon could play a role here: she wants to obtain the power to hold another independence referendum in Scotland before Christmas.

Four polls published on Saturday say Labor is ten to 17 percentage points behind the Conservatives. However, researchers have spoken of the most unpredictable election in the UK for decades - after nearly half of the voters have already moved between the parties in the three elections between 2010 and 2017.

Because of British suffrage, it is likely that either Johnson's Conservative or Labor will post the Prime Minister after the vote. Among other things, the Social Democrats want to raise taxes for the wealthy and businesses, as well as oblige larger companies to park ten percent of their shares in a fund from which employees receive dividends.

The British are scheduled to vote on December 12th, voting on Premier Johnson's Brexit course. He had recently promised to complete his country's EU exit by the end of January. Actually, he had already promised this until the end of October, but in parliament, but did not get a majority. Johnson announced a harsher immigration policy from 2021 on Sunday should he win the election (read more about the election campaign and Johnson's strategy here).

In the dispute over Brexit, dozens of MPs have announced that they will no longer compete in the upcoming vote. Among them are 36 Tories and 18 Labor politicians. In total, about 60 MPs do not want to continue, about every eleventh MP in the lower house.
