The Palestinian presidency condemned on Wednesday the US declaration on the illegal Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories, stressing that Washington bears full responsibility for any repercussions of this dangerous situation.

Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeina said in a statement quoted by WAFA that this declaration is invalid, unacceptable and condemned and totally contradicts with international law and resolutions of international legitimacy rejecting the settlement plans of the occupation and Security Council resolutions, especially resolution No. 2334.

Abu Rudeineh said: "While the Palestinian presidency rejects these statements and previous resolutions on Jerusalem, it calls on the world countries to reject and condemn them because they are illegal and threaten international peace and security," pointing out that the US administration is not qualified or authorized to cancel the resolutions of international legitimacy.

The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo reiterated in a press conference today the blatant bias of the United States to the Israeli occupation entity, declaring that the US administration does not consider the Israeli settlements as incompatible with international law, ignoring all international resolutions, especially Security Council resolution 2334 of 2016, which calls for an immediate end to all operations.
