In Brandenburg, today the Greens announce the outcome of their membership decision on the Kenya coalition. A yes to the alliance with the SPD and CDU is very likely, in recent days had already agreed party days of the SPD and CDU.
Kenya is due to the large AfD blockade block in the parliaments to the new normal in East Germany. In Saxony-Anhalt , CDU Prime Minister Reiner Haseloff has been ruling poorly since 2016, sometimes rightly in this constellation, in Saxony , just such an alliance is being negotiated.
Will a coalition out of necessity inevitably become a coalition of need? In the end, it will be decisive whether Kenya can be more than an anti-AfD alliance . So whether a coalition of this is formed instead of just the other.

Final spurt at the SPD, who would have thought that. After seventy-six days of official chief search, team Olaf Scholz / Klara Geywitz and Saskia Esken / Norbert Walter-Borjans meet for the third and final TV duel on Monday evening. From Tuesday then the party members may vote just under two weeks final (!). Extension not possible, really, no joke, over and over.
Watch out for Scholz tonight, it might be worth it. Because in the duel in the last week, the vice-chancellor surprisingly went on the offensive. It was really fun to watch. He put it sharp, edgy, downright unscholzig. In the meantime, Walter Borjans did not know what had happened to him, and Scholz's ears were all red with the desire to attack.
Suddenly there flashed something on the German politics in the leaden GroKo years so much off: A touch of voice, enthusiasm for the democratic dispute and, yes, the move to power.
While the duo Esken / Walter-Borjans would probably like to set up any more SPD chancellor candidates, because - huh! - maybe even someone could scoff at it because of the electoral low-flying, makes Scholz his ambitions . He wants to become that himself. OK then. And maybe even a comrade comes from the cover. Greetings to Neukölln.
That here just Olaf Scholz appears as a fighter against the political speechless, that's already a joke of social democratic history. After all, it was Scholz who, as SPD secretary-general in the Schröder years, blighted the management of programmatic change, that is, the sale of the technically seeming Agenda 2010 (we'll talk about the content some other time). Times are changing.

In a notebook of the magazine "Sinn und Form" from the year 1990 I recently read a conversation of the writer Christa Wolf with the CDU politician Kurt Biedenkopf . "We have constructed a social order and live it in a way that is not generalizable," said Biedenkopf. If this were done, "the earth would be uninhabitable within a generation." The Western industrialized nations were of the opinion that "the present distribution of the fruits of this earth corresponds to a natural order". Development aid would then be an attempt not to let conflicts become too great.
Biedenkopf compared this with Bismarck's social laws: no radical redistribution, but a marginal improvement in the social situation to stabilize conditions. At that time it was about the revolutionary workforce, today it is about the fight against causes of flight.
