Trump: speculation about hospital visit on the weekend

2019-11-18T02:52:55.331Z

"Rapid Investigations and Laboratory Tests" as part of the annual check - that's how the White House describes Donald Trump's visit to the Walter Reed Hospital over the weekend. But several US media report doubts.

The White House weighs down. "It's all routine," press spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said about Donald Trump's visit at the Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland on Saturday. They preferred a part of the annual health check, Grisham said. After all, the president had a day off in Washington.

However, several US media report doubts about this innocuous explanation. CNN reports, citing a source not mentioned by name, that the hospital staff were not prepared for the high attendance. Normally, this is customary at appointments of the president, after all, this brings with his entourage the processes of the house considerably.

In addition, the appointment in hospital was not in the visible daily program of the President. That had been different in previous investigations, according to CNN. Reporters were also instructed not to report in advance about the trip to the hospital.

At the last test, the president did well

Spokeswoman Grisham said, "We will not be dealing with deadline and security issues here, but the President is doing well and that was a routine check-up as part of the annual check-up." However, Grisham did not want to answer why the president did not complete the entire investigation.

The last annual investigation took place in February this year, so Trump would have had a few months left. He also has medical facilities at the White House. It is therefore unclear why the effort was made to bring Trump and escort column to the hospital. According to his spokeswoman, the 73-year-old graduated there "rapid examinations and laboratory tests".

At his last routine appointment, Trump had been certified as having a "very good overall health," according to the White House. However, he suffers from overweight and heart disease, which is medically controllable and quite common for men of his age.
