Lebanese President General Michel Aoun reiterated Lebanon's commitment to the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
"Lebanon is committed to the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 in cooperation with the international forces for its full implementation despite the ongoing Israeli violations," Aoun said during a meeting with UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon Jan Kubi_.
The Israeli enemy continues to violate Lebanon's airspace, territory and territorial waters, in disregard of all international norms and laws, in particular resolution 1701.
On the other hand, Aoun pointed out that he is continuing his efforts and contacts to form a new Lebanese government that includes representatives of various political components in Lebanon, technocrats of competent and reputable technocrats, as well as representatives of the popular movement.
Aoun said that he will set a date for binding parliamentary consultations immediately after consultations with political leaders concerned with the formation of the government, which aims to remove obstacles to this formation and facilitate the task of the president-designate to prevent a government vacuum in the country.
Aoun pointed out that the economic and financial conditions are under control and are being addressed gradually.
There have been demonstrations and sit-ins in many Lebanese areas since the 17th of last month to protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions.
