Palestinian Presidential Spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that this declaration is invalid, unacceptable and condemned and totally contradicts with international law and resolutions of international legitimacy rejecting the settlement plans of occupation and Security Council resolutions, stressing that Washington bears full responsibility for any repercussions of this dangerous position.
Abu Rudeineh said that while the Palestinian presidency rejects these statements and previous resolutions on Jerusalem, it calls on the world countries to reject and condemn them because they are illegal and threaten international peace and security.
Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh stressed that the US administration's declaration is a mockery of international law and international resolutions that clearly criminalize settlements, calling on the international community to confront this dangerous declaration, which constitutes a blow to the possibility of reaching a settlement to the Palestinian people issue and establishing an independent sovereign state on the borders of June 4th. 1967 with Jerusalem as its capital.
