The Secretary General of the Lebanese Parliament Adnan Daher announced the postponement of the session of the House, which was scheduled today to further notice due to the lack of quorum.
Daher said in a statement: Since the exceptional circumstances present, especially security, prevented the Council from convening the process of electing parliamentary committees and based on precedents adopted by the Council, he ruled that the parliamentary committees list all its members in accordance with the rule of continuity of institutions until they are elected.
Dozens of protesters gathered this morning in front of the Council to prevent deputies from reaching the building and attend the legislative session, while security forces worked to prevent the protesters from approaching the gates of the Council.
