At about 9 am today (21st), a 61-year-old female worker was hit by a water tanker at a construction site at 1-9 East Space Road, Chek Lap Kok. She was seriously injured in the head and confirmed her death on the spot. The police are investigating the cause of the accident. According to the on-site news, the woman victim was a car wash cleaner. The location of the incident was the site maintenance area. She was smashed over the head by the water truck and died.

A spokesman for the Industrial Casualty Association said that at about 9 am this morning, a 61-year-old female worker was knocked down and smashed by a water tanker at a construction site near Chek Lap Kok Airport. A spokesman for the AA said that it was reported at about 9:45 this morning that a woman worker was hit by a water truck and firefighters and ambulancemen were on the scene. She was certified dead. The AA continued to feel sad about the incident and expressed deep condolences to the family. The incident has been investigated by the police and the Bureau is also contacting the company of the deceased. The Labour Department said that it is investigating a fatal work accident in Chek Lap Kok today (November 21) in which a worker was killed. The Labour Department immediately dispatched staff to the scene after receiving the report and is now investigating the cause of the accident.
