The election of the District Councils is destined to be held in an extremely exciting political atmosphere. The Democrats and the formed parties have each packaged their votes into "anti-government" and "anti-violence" referendums. "Hong Kong 01" does not agree that the district board election is a referendum, and it is even more reluctant to see the district council being politicized and distorting its nature and work. If there is no clear issue in the referendum, the outcome of the referendum will not constitute an effective expression of the will of the people. In the end, it will only take what is needed and create greater political chaos. However, even if the voters do not regard the district board election as a referendum, the political organization will interpret the election results in a direction that is beneficial to them. Once the interpretation is chaotic, it will become Luoshengmen. The people of Hong Kong should carefully consider how to vote. There is only one standard to measure - who is the best candidate for the District Council to operate effectively.

"Hong Kong 01" believes that Hong Kong's political and social conditions must be reformed, and it is a comprehensive and in-depth reform that includes both economic and people's livelihood, social distribution, and political system. It also includes relations between Hong Kong and the Mainland, one country, two systems, and Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong. It is even necessary to explore Hong Kong’s role and ambitions in the “Great Changes in the World in a Hundred Years”. But this is not a revolution, not a Hong Kong independence. These macro issues are not directly related to the district board elections, but they both require rational thinking. In the context of rational understanding of the status quo and consideration of the future, discussing various issues including the District Council is the premise for promoting real reform. What is rationality to promote reform? It is to carry out reforms within the scope of being realistic, motivated, and making a difference. Treating the district board vote as a test of its own rational ability is a powerful practice of reason.

This time the district board elections took place in the worst social conflict in Hong Kong for more than 50 years. Last week, after the fierce police-civilian conflicts at the Chinese University and the demonstrations occupied by the demonstrators, the police seized nearly 4,000 petrol bombs in the school. It is evident from the violence that has continued to evolve in the past six months. The riots will inevitably directly affect the judgment of the public vote. The key is to choose different principles to choose different candidates. We try to put forward three aspects for the reader's reference.

Democrats select candidates for joint promotion activities. (data picture)

Take the slogan "Five major demands and indispensable" as an example. In fact, many people know that it is unrealistic, and even privately think that as long as an independent investigation committee can be established, it can be accepted. In this case, voters can use this slogan. Link yourself to a candidate? There is also the "recovery of Hong Kong, the revolution of the times". Although it has become the common language of demonstrators, I am afraid that not many people know the true meaning of it. Different candidates have no way to explain it. If there are candidates who try to confuse people with such slogans and defraud the votes, it is an insult to the wisdom of the voters. Moreover, the slogan may imply the meaning of Hong Kong independence.

For candidates who advocate Hong Kong independence or have accepted Hong Kong independence in the "self-determination" proposition, we doubt their sincerity in the election and worry that if they promote these ideas within the system, they will not only benefit Hong Kong, but will only Continue to create political chaos. Therefore, we say no to this type of candidate and encourage other voters to give up supporting these people.

After the conflicts in the anti-reforms, a large number of political amateurs airborne the constituencies and called for political sentiment. They must kill the members of the formed system. How should these candidates be treated? This is a question that is not easy to answer. First of all, we are very appreciative of the fact that young people have begun to learn social governance through district boards. Whether they are actively participating in elections or actively voting, they are all civic obligations worth encouraging. Secondly, Hong Kong needs more people who are based in Hong Kong to participate in community building. District boards are a useful way to deepen their understanding of public administration. It is a good thing for young people to have passion for elections. But at the same time, we have to ask, is it a suitable choice to invest in the elections in political excitement?

If they join the work as early as one or two years ago, they will not politicize the district boards, slogans and slogans, and they will be able to propose appropriate election platforms, be true to the community, and believe that they can persevere. We should give opportunity. It is a pity that most of the prime people are "airborne". It goes without saying that there are some speculators and some people have a bloody experience. There is no such thing as a "reverse practice" and a political reform or social movement. , ask others for support. How arrogant this is! This requirement is even more unfair than those who have worked hard and have rooted in the community for many years. Not to mention that this wave of popular candidates also contains a strong political revenge. The public should really ponder before making a decision. If some Members have worked hard for the district for many years, they are only because they belong to traditional political organizations, whether they are pan-people or established political parties. They are "destroyed" by emotionally politically correct positions. reason? Is it conducive to the operation of the District Council? In the history familiar to Hong Kong people, only the Red Guards of the Cultural Revolution had such unreasonable demands.

The DAB and the FTU are the two most influential political parties in the establishment. They have always been regarded as the government's avatars. It is easy to take the government's mistakes into the body. In this election, the targets of airborne snipers are these. Candidates for political parties are also seated by some members of the Pan-Members. If airborne people think that the tide of anti-reform movements can make them take advantage of the situation, I am afraid that they only show their political naivety, and they also reflect their contempt for the political maturity of voters and miscalculate the public's emotional changes in the anti-reform movement. If the airborne people are really interested in reforming the district government, we hope that they will serve the community solidly and persevere. After four years, the voters can review their results and then consider whether to support them as district board members.

After the storm of opposition to Article 23 of the Basic Law in 2003, many people shouted loud political slogans and won in the district board elections of the same year. But four years later, the formed political parties successfully recovered the lost ground because of the empty talk of politics. People, especially those who are airborne, have no achievements in the district boards. We don't want the same thing to happen again, so it is recommended that voters must be strict with the above three candidates and be brave enough to say no, not emotionally, or vote for them like a moral rob.

The anti-reforms storm has made the society see the deep structural contradictions in Hong Kong. Hong Kong must undergo a major operation to regain its vitality. We must stress again that only by getting rid of political excitement, calmly and rationally looking at the status quo of society and thinking about future development can we ush up real reforms. We cannot continue to encourage irresponsible political performance, and we do not agree to discuss Hong Kong's future by venting emotions. It is foreseeable that after the anti-reform movement has calmed down, there will still be some social controversy. I hope that everyone can pass this district council election and let rationality become the attitude of political discussion. Only in this way will it not let down the past few months. Pay.
