Jerusalem (CNN) - Israel’s attorney general on Thursday revealed charges of bribery and fraud and abuse of trust against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in three separate corruption investigations, which is the first time in the country's history that a first Acting minister will face an indictment in criminal investigations.
Netanyahu has proclaimed his innocence since criminal investigations were made public almost three years ago. He was expected to make an announcement Thursday night.
Although a formal accusation may be months away, the disclosure of the charges is a blow to the political and personal future of the Prime Minister of Israel with more years of service, 13 years in total.
